Abstract

This work aimed to study the growth and sporulation of Lecanicillium lecanii (isolates JAB 02 and JAB 45) cultivated in media with differents sources of phosphorus (ammonium phosphate, monobasic and dibasic potassium phosphates, phosphoric acid, sodium and calcium phosphates), C:P (5:, 0:, 50:, 00:, and 200:) and C:N:P (60::6, 60::2, 20:2:,2 and 240:4:,2 for JAB 02, and 0::2, 0::, 50:5: and 200:20: for JAB 45) ratios. The micelial growth was measured every three days during eighteen days after inoculation whereas the sporulation was evaluated only on the eighteenth day of incubation. The sources of P and C:P ratio did not influence the growth and sporulation of both isolates. However, the data suggest that ammonium phosphate, potassium and sodium phosphates, and 5:, 0:, 00: and 200: C:P ratios favor the development of JAB 02, while ammonium phosphate, potassium monobasic and dibasic phosphates and C:P ratios 5:, 0:, 50:, and 200: favor the development of JAB 45. The C:N:P ratio did not influence JAB 02 performance and JAB 45 growth but JAB 45 porulation reached the peak values of 33.4 x 04 and 26.4 x 04 conidia mL- when submitted to the ratios of 0::2 and 0::, respectively.Aditional keywords: entomopathogenic fungus; phosphorus nutrition; physiology of fungi.
