The objective of this work was to determine the toxicity and the LC50 of different chemical insecticides and plant products to P. xylostella (diamondback moth), using different concentrations of the products Organic Neem and Biopirol, both extracted from plants; Match and Decis, both industrial chemical products. For each concentration, 5 foliar discs of kale plant were sprayed in a Potter System® tower. The discs were transferred to Petri dishes, on moist paper filter, and then 2 first ínstar larvae were placed on top of them. Larval and pupal period and viability, sex ratio and the LC50, had been determined. Decis insecticide were not only gotten mortality of 00%, therefore, was not determined the LC50. The larval period was affected by the Match insecticide and the pupal period was not influenced. The sex ratio was not affected by the products. The LC50 values were of 0.6474% for Organic Neem; 3.0224% for Biopirol, and 2.52263 mL/00L for Match. It was possible to conclude that the insecticides Organic Neem and Biopirol are efficient for the control of P. xylostella. The chemical insecticide Match was also found to be efficient in controlling the population of diamondback moth. In the population used in the study resistance to the Decis (deltamethrin) was detected. Additional keywords: vegetal extracts; azadirachtin; lufenuron; deltamethrin; pyroligneous extracts.Published
